[Gemini] This document contains several children's stories.

The first story is about King Midas, who wishes for everything he touches to turn to gold. He soon regrets this wish when his food and his daughter turn to gold. He is able to reverse the wish and learns to appreciate what is truly important.

The second story tells of Pheidippides, a Greek runner who races to Sparta for help when the Persians invade. He runs 150 miles, but the Spartans refuse to help immediately. On his way back to Athens, he meets the god Pan, who promises aid. The Athenians defeat the Persians, and Pheidippides runs 22 miles to deliver the news, but dies from exhaustion.

The third story is a retelling of Dickens's "A Christmas Carol." It follows Ebenezer Scrooge, a miserly man who is visited by three ghosts on Christmas Eve. The ghosts show him the error of his ways, and he wakes up on Christmas morning a changed man.

The fourth story is about Sir Richard Grenville and his ship, the Revenge. They are outnumbered by the Spanish Armada but refuse to surrender. They fight bravely, but the Revenge is eventually sunk.

The final story is about two American naval officers, Decatur and Somers, who are friends. Decatur leads a daring mission to destroy a captured American ship, and Somers is disappointed not to be chosen to go with him. However, he later gets his chance to prove his bravery.
